Just Say Please
Training Agreement

This 6-week course is for dogs of all ages who need a start in basic manners. During this class your dog will learn how to "say please" to ask for what he wants (instead of jumping up, barking, etc.). From 10 week old puppies to 10 year old dogs this program will help you get the companion you want. We introduce the five basics that all dogs need to learn: sit, down, stay, coming when called and walking on a loose leash. Focus is on teaching the dog to control his actions so we also work on teaching him to wait at the door, leave it and sit instead of jumping on people. We will help you learn how to set your dog up for success so that you and your dog will have a good time learning together. Problem behaviors are also addressed (such as digging, chewing, house training).

Beginner Rally Obedience
Prerequisite: Just Say Please 2  (if not currently a Happy Hounds student, requires instructor approval)
Training Agreement

In this 6-week course you'll learn about a new dog sport, Rally Obedience. Rally-O uses directional signs to guide the dog and handler team through a course of about 15 different signs consisting of various turns, direction changes and other obedience moves such as sit, down and front. The team heels from sign to sign and performs the exercises indicated by each sign at each location. Rally encourages teamwork between you and your dog, so you are allowed to talk, praise and offer multiple signals to your dog. For this reason, Rally is a great way to improve your dog's attention while walking on leash. This class will cover all the AKC Rally Novice level exercises, and you'll have the opportunity to try different Rally courses using the skills you've learned. This class is primarily geared toward fun, but it will also provide plenty of preparation should you decide you want to compete, too.

Quick Start Program
Training Agreement

As much as we'd all like to have the time to train our dogs, sometimes life gets in the way. This is where our Quick Start Program can help. It is a two week program where you drop your dog off in the morning and pick him up each night. We train the dog and then teach you how to follow up with what he has learned. Your dog will be taught using positive methods that help him to learn to love working - which makes it much easier on you when he comes home! The program includes either two private lessons or a 6-week group class - whichever works best for you and your family.

Our Quick Start Program was featured in the December 2004 issue of Dog Fancy Magazine!
